Meticulous

So I guess my "hiatus" wasn't really a hiatus. I updated on it so it doesn't count! Well the good news is...that I'm done my drawing! YAY, wooot. I'm sure you know who it is just by looking at it! If you still have no clue.. it's Rihanna.

I decided to draw her because, well I really liked the reference photo. It looked so detailed and I've been wanting to draw a very detailed portrait of someone. But in my opinion, I failed to capture the image I had in mind. The biggest fail is the hair actually (& proper shading). I just didn't had the patience I hoped to have like other great portrait artists out there. Probably because I'm still young and have yet to experience many more patience in the future.

To be honest, I did improved A LOT, especially the hair part. I used to just scramble and color in the hair. Before it didn't matter to me but gradually I started to see how the hair is just as important as the face. Without its realism, the picture wouldn't be whole, right? So in the future I plan to handle each strand of hair with care. I'll try and be as meticulous as I can be, but that probably won't happen 'till I'm at my 20s or something. Hmmm, I wonder where I'll be by then? Haha, well in the meantime I'll just improve more and more.

Update* You know what? Scratch everything I just said- I looked at this drawing a lot of times and realized... "HOLY CRAAAP (pardon my language) THAT IS SOO GOOD!" I couldn't even believe I drew it! Then again I always think someone else drew it, I swear it doesn't feel like it was me who drew that. Haha, how silly. Thanks for reading!
