For a Friend

A while ago my friend asked me and many of her other friends if we could help her make some origami japanese cranes. If you do not know the story of the japanese cranes, click here for some insight. Because making 1000 cranes could grant you one wish according to the legend, me and many other people joined in for the recovery of her brother's health. I also asked some of my friends to help make some too and they were very willing to help my friend out.

So the days passed and I received a message from her that her brother is doing pretty well. I was very happy to hear it and kept on telling her to keep praying to God and keep staying strong. It was a hard time for her, but it was also a time that made her and her family be closer to each other. Not only did it made them closer, it also made her classmates become much closer to each other too. This week, I found through facebook that her classmates are gathering at their chapel during lunch to pray for her brother. Although my friend could not make it as she was at her brother's side, her classmates were there to support her family by praying together.

Just today I received some news about her brother's condition. I was expecting something good but it turned out to be the other way around. My friend told me that her brother's body had stopped responding to medications. At that moment I felt sadness in my heart. I wanted to know more but my bus stop was close by, so he will be telling me about it some other time.

I am writing this here to ask you to help my friend's brother and her family. Please pray for them. Pray anywhere at any time and tell your friends to help pray for her family too. This is not asking much, all you need to do is give a little of your day's time and say a prayer for my friend. It would really mean a lot to her and her family. Thank you.

And as for the japanese cranes, we have reached over 1000 of them. I hope that when her brother sees those cranes, that he can know that there are many people praying for his recovery. Also, by seeing those cranes, I hope that it will help bring him back his strength during this difficult time.

P.S. Sorry if this was not the happy kind of blog, but I want to help her family out. Your prayers will all count to something. Thanks and God bless.
