Hey guys. Sorry for the lack of update on this blog. I see that some people still come to view this page and it is saddening that I haven't posted anything here for a LONG time now. On the upside, I do update almost everyday on this blog: photographingeveryday. Go there instead! Hope you all have a good day today! :)

It's all for HIM!

Hey readers, a friend shared this video and it made me curious of what it was about. This video is really inspiring. It's about a man who listens to a christian song and as he walks the streets, he starts to feel the song and what it's all about. Please watch the video, it really is worth watching. And if you liked it, share it to your friends and family. Thanks!

P.S: I will be posting some pictures I took for the past few days some other time. Been kinda busy lately.. OH I made another blog dedicated for Project 365. Click here to go there. And here for the introduction of the blog. :)

Awareness Test Fail

At first I thought this video was a little tricky but easy enough that I passed the test. THEN it asked a second question which I was NOT aware of. I laughed at myself for not noticing it >.<

Try the test, it made me realized how paying attention on one thing can block you from noticing other important (or in this case kind of funny) things that you should also be paying attention to.

Work in Progress Portraits and Drawing Tips

Hello :) I mentioned a few posts ago that I would put a work in progress drawing of my baby cousin. If you do not know what I am talking about, click here.

The drawing is actually looking pretty AWESOME so far! I was not expecting such an improvement! Hmm, my best drawing before the 2PM and this drawing of my cousin is probably the Rihanna portrait. Before that, I would never imagine my drawings to look almost like a picture as they do now. I hope I can keep them to look as good as my expectations, if not then no worries, that will help motivate me more. Here is the work in progress portrait of my baby cousin!

A sepia image I took, because it looked cool haha

I have been using the grid method to get accuracy and draw faster lately. I think it is a great tool to use for numerous reasons. But I also think it might lessen the confidence of an artist without the grid method. So basically, the grid method is good if you are doing commissions for people or if you really want your drawing to look awesome! That does not mean that drawing without a grid will not make your drawing look great though. Whether or not you use the grid method, the key to making every great portrait drawing look realistic is how well you know your shading. If you are really good at that, you can do magic with your pencils and make your portraits look alive! At least this is what I think. :-P

Anyways, here is another work in progress but in video of the 2PM drawing I made. I posted the pictures in this post.

SO besides drawing, how was your New Years? Mine was pretty awesome! My family went to a family friend's house and spent our new year there. It was actually unique from the past new years because my brother and I actually sang the karaoke without force. Well, it was because there was a raffle.. and whoever's name was pulled out gets to win a movie pass!!! SO my brother and I sang LOTS of songs. There was one catch though, you have to have at least a 98 score to enter the raffle. We got lots of 100 so that meant lots of chances to win the movie passes!! Haha, we also played some pretty awesome games and did other stuff as well.

Well that is about it, I had a great start of the New Year- we actually went home at 3 in the morning! Hmm, hopefully next New Year's will be fun too. I also hope I can use the movie passes we won before school starts! Oh deng, got to catch up on homework and studying...I guess no going to the theatre for me >.<

Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010! And FreeRice Organization

Wow, one more day and another year will pass. Looking back, I realized that 2009 was a year of discoveries for me. It was also a year of making the hardest decisions I would make in a long time. And because of those hard decisions, it also lead to a year of lots of crying. I think 2009 was the year where I actually gave in and just release what has been on my mind- the good and the bad. As lame as it sounds, crying can become your best friend. By doing so it helps release and reduce the burden, stress, problems and whatever sadness there may be in one's life. Even though it does not really fix the problems, you know that sometimes, crying is just what you need.

Besides crying, I also finally accepted the fact that I am a fickle person. I am undecided and fickle-minded, at least I think so. If you know me and you are reading this, would you think so too? I could blabber on many situations to prove it to you. But one would be that awkward situations were almost always a fail for me. Especially when I meet people I want to know more about. This is when I choose between "should I start a conversation or should I not?". When that time actually comes and a chance to say something, my not-so-confident-self ponders the room as if that person was not even there. I really wish I would stop ignoring people I want to know more, but it seems the harder I try the more likely I become nervous and silent. Then voila! Their first impression of me is ruined.

Hmmm, I do not always ignore the people I want to know more about. Have you ever met someone and right away you knew that you guys would become pretty good friends? Then you meet someone else and your first words come out as a crack. FAIL. Maybe it is due to physical attraction or thinking that the person is too good/awesome to become your friend? Hmm, here I go again.. blabbering on.

Well, since it is going to be a new year soon, why not start it off by doing something good? I found this really neat site called free rice and it is basically an organization that donates 10 grains of rice through the World Food Programme (to help end hunger) every time you answer a question right. It is really neat and you can find different kinds of subjects such as art, chemistry, math, english, geography and language. Just click here to pick which one you would like to play. And click here for FAQ. Oh, and tell your friends about the site, the more people play, the more they will donate free rice! Thanks to the other thousands of people who played, FreeRice was able to feed millions of people ever since it started in October of 2007!

Make a difference to the world! Even if the difference is not as big as you would like it to be, at least you know that you are still helping people through that act of kindness and generosity. Make that be your New Year's Resolution. Because it is going to be part of my New Year's Resolution list! Hoorah! :)

For a Certain Friend, We are Deeply Sorry

After we talked I could not just wait there and do nothing about what had happened. So I decided to draw something for you. I made a drawing on one of your favorite bands, 2PM. I knew that you liked 2PM and their songs as you talked about them a couple times. Especially when one of the members (jaebeom) left the group- that really made you upset and got you writing.

I really hope you will like this drawing. It took me (triple times) more than the hours you waited for us. Just knowing that with each passing minute was another frustration and disappointment waiting for people who did not even show up was too much. -sigh- This drawing took me a week, and the whole time I was drawing it I thought about how you waited for at least one of us to show up. Knowing about what you went through was not fair. I am so sorry. We are deeply sorry.

I know it will take you a while to forgive us, and we totally understand. But I am hoping that with this present, I hope that it will lessen the frustration and disappointment that you felt for us.

We were all at fault and we are very sorry for that.

P.S. If only I could blame the stupid pig's genes that mutated and passed on the swine flu to human beings. -sigh- How I wished I took my H1N1 shot earlier- that way at least you have me to contact the rest of the group. :(

Merry Christmas!

It's that time of year again, are you guys feeling the Christmas spirit? To be honest, I don't feel it as strong as it used to be when I was younger. Gaah. Maybe because I disappointed someone I know, which made it hard for me to feel the Christmas spirit as his Christmas was not what he expected it to be. In other words, I just want to say sorry to that friend of mine. If you are reading this, I am DEEPLY sorry for what happened yesterday. I promise I will make it up to you. You got my word on that.

Here are some pictures I took a while back, you can tell since in one of the pictures there are no presents at all. lol. Yeee but now there are lots! REMEMBER, it is not about the presents and gifts and all of those propagandas you see on commercials, it is about commemorating the birth of Jesus. Not only that, it should also be the time when we worship wholeheartedly. Oh, and lets not forget that it is also a time of giving, so if you do give presents or gifts, make it, don't buy it. That way you are letting the other person know that you are willing to give some of your life's time (that you could never get back) just to make them something special. And that is more meaningful than getting a gift from a store that your friend doesn't even like.

Alright, enough talking. Enjoy the pictures :)
